1. Product Overview
WeChat Cross-Border Pay offers two cooperation modes, namely, the direct mode and the institution mode.
In the institution mode, overseas merchants need to access WeChat Pay through the overseas institution.
The institution can complete sub-merchant submission through the WeChat Pay Merchant Platform and the "sub-merchant submission interface".
WeChat Pay opens the "sub-merchant submission interface" to institutions to assist institutions in rapidly batch submitting sub-merchants through the system interface so as to improve sub-merchant submission efficiency and save labor costs.
To modify information of a sub-merchant with access, the institution can also quickly complete modification of the sub-merchant information through the "sub-merchant modification interface".
2. Product Process
Institutions can complete the onboarding process through the WeChat Pay Merchant Platform or the sub-merchant onboarding API.
The sub-merchant information submission process through WeChat Pay Merchant Platform is as below:
1Log in to WeChat Pay Merchant Platform.
2Select Institution > Sub-Merchant > Application in the menu, and click the Apply button.
3 Fill in the sub-merchant information as required.
4Submit the information.
5View the approval status in the sub-merchant list.
6Finish
3. Conditions of Use
After onboarding as a WeChat Pay institution, the institution can generally obtain the permission to use the product by default.
WeChat Pay will penalize some institutions who do not meet sub-merchant submission permission requirements according to risk control and compliance requirements. The penalized institutions are unable to use the product. If the institution is penalized, please refer to the penalty notification email and follow the instructions in the email, or contact your business contact person.
4. Special Notes
For some overseas countries or regions, there are requirements beyond the general conditions at the time of sub-merchant submission due to special regulatory restrictions, and the "sub-merchant submission interface” cannot be used directly. For the specific countries or regions affected, please contact your business contact person.
5. Application Case
Most institutions with the system development capability complete sub-merchant onboarding through the sub-merchant submission interface.
